Adam Noll

Christian outdoor enthusiast, adventurer – Camp Champion

Adam Noll, known around the adventure world as @ThatOutdoorGuy, is passionate about helping others—especially families with children—get outdoors more often. Having spent the majority of his life heading out in search of adventure, his knowledge of Southern Appalachia has seen him champion support for world-renowned destinations like the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Appalachian Trail.

Drawing upon a love of the outdoors instilled in him by his mother, and furthered by his time as a proud Boy Scout, Adam has spent the past several years as one of the most popular advocates of spending family time together on adventures, whether at a local park, or on an 8701-mile cross-country road trip like the one he and his children embarked on during the summer of 2015.

Adam grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee—two-time winner of Outside Magazine’s “Best Town Ever!” contest. He graduated from UT-Chattanooga, and went on to become an award-winning Inner City Middle School teacher and curriculum writer, where he furthered his lifelong connection with those less fortunate than himself.

In his free time, Adam enjoys hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, chasing backcountry waterfalls, adventure photography, fly fishing, camping, winter bushwhacking, and honing his survival skills. Getting his children involved in these outdoor hobbies has been his priority for over 20 years.

Adam has been a single (widowed) father since 2009, and has poured himself into his children. His daughter Julia is an amazing scholar and artist, and is currently attending college in New York City, where she is in the Honor’s College at her university, and has been named to the Dean’s List every semester. His son Aidan is a young scholar in his own right, and is halfway through Middle School. The three of them have traveled over 20,000 miles on family road trips from coast to coast, including a visit to Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Beginning unexpectedly during the spring of 2013, Adam went on to become one of the most sought after adventure ambassadors in America. He was an inaugural member of the Teton Sports Mountain Adventurer Team, a 2016 Oboz Trail Tales ambassador, captain of Team S2V, with Rocky Boots, a 2016 Team SKA member, with Stormy Kromer, and a 2015-2017 Subaru Ambassador, just to name a few of his favorite partnerships.

But the defining factor in Adam’s life has been his profession of faith in Jesus Christ, at age 11. He served in several capacities with the Baptist Student Union (now Baptist Collegiate Ministries) while at Chattanooga State Community College and UT-Chattanooga, including President, Executive Committee member, Home Mission Board Summer Missions Student Selection Committee, Spring Break Missionary, and Summer Missionary. Adam answered God’s call to serve as an “Adventure Missionary” on December 9, 2018, and is in the process of growing his Appalachian Mountainside Ministries (AMM) into an outreach to those whose love of the outdoors overshadows their faith. He strongly believes in the mission of Camp Amplify and is honored to join forces with them. The combination of Camp Amplify and the AMM provide the perfect answer to the Jeremiah 29:11 Plan for his life, and he is very excited to see where God leads, as only He can!

We are honored and blessed to have the passionate and talented Steventhen Holland leading our campers in worship at Camp Amplify. Steventhen Holland is an Author, Recording Artist, passionate Worship Leader, motivational Speaker, national Pro-Life speaker and founder of Broken Not Dead Ministries, a Non-Profit 501(c3)!

He is a Nashville recording artist! He recorded his first EP entitled, Broken Not Dead, which released in September of 2017 and is expecting to release new music in 2019.

He is the author of a book entitled, The Journey: Brokenness to Wholeness, in which he shares his amazing story. His life is the result of the gang-rape of an eighteen-year-old mentally challenged young woman. Incredibly, despite his mother’s lack of intellectual ability, homelessness, and a society that was constantly pressuring her to abort him, he survived. However, his mother couldn’t care for him and placed him in foster care, where he was later adopted. He wouldn’t be reunited with his birth mother for over twenty-seven years.

Despite the brokenness he has experienced, he travels the country, with his ministry Broken Not Dead, sharing a message of HOPE and RESTORATION for the BROKEN! Steventhen has ministered at many events around the country over the last 15+ years, delivering this powerful message! Some of these events include: church services, men & women’s retreats, student camps/retreats, school assemblies, juvenile detention centers, mentoring programs, abstinence education programs, children’s homes, drug & rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, mental health facilities, pregnancy care center banquets, and more…
